Come and see what we actually do
Welcome Night is our open evening for boys thinking about joining. It isn't a talk and it isn't a sales pitch — it's an ordinary troop night with the doors open, so you can see how a Scout-led troop really works.
The scouts run it themselves. They'll show you the gear, tell you about this year's campouts, and get you having a go at a few things. Parents, come along and ask the leaders anything — how much it costs, how much time it takes, what happens on a campout.
There's nothing to bring, nothing to pay, and no obligation whatsoever.
What's happening
BB gun range
Take a turn on the range with our trained range officers. Safety briefing first, then it's your shot.
Fire craft
Learn to lay and light a fire the way scouts do, with our Firecrafter members showing you how it's done.
Cake
Real cake, and plenty of it. Come hungry — this part needs no explanation.
Meet the troop
Look around the gear, meet the patrols, and hear from the scouts themselves about where they camped this year.
…and whatever else the scouts have cooked up. They plan the evening, so there's usually a surprise or two.
Let us know you're coming
Not required — but it helps us plan the range and the cake.
What happens afterwards?
Nothing, unless you want it to. If your scout enjoys it, come back any Tuesday — the troop meets tuesdays from 7:00–8:30 PM at Legacy Bible Church. Visit as many times as you like before deciding anything.
