This is the website of BSA Troop 199, a volunteer-run Scout troop in Fishers, Indiana. We collect as little as we can. We don’t run advertising, and we don’t sell or rent anyone’s information.
What you send us
The contact form asks for your name, your email address and your message. It is kept so a troop leader can read it and reply to you.
The Welcome Night sign-up asks for a parent or guardian’s name, email and phone number, the names and ages of the boys coming, and anyone else you’re bringing. We use it only to plan the evening.
Both are stored in the troop’s database and can be seen only by the troop’s adult leaders who manage this site. They aren’t shared with anyone outside the troop. Both forms are meant to be filled in by a parent or guardian, not by a child.
Visitor statistics
We use Google Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages they read — that a page was viewed, roughly where in the world, and on what kind of device. It sets cookies to tell one visit from another. It does not tell us who you are, and it isn’t connected to anything you type into our forms.
You can opt out on every website at once with Google’s opt-out browser add-on, and Google explains how it uses this information.
Photographs
The gallery shows photographs from troop activities, and Scouts appear in them. Location data is removed from photos before they are published. If you’d like a photo of your son taken down, email scoutmaster@troop199.org and we’ll remove it.
The Eagle Honor Roll lists the names of Scouts who have earned the Eagle rank and the year they earned it. If you are listed and would prefer not to be, email us.
Who helps us run the site
The site is hosted by Vercel. The database and gallery photos are stored with Supabase. Visitor statistics are processed by Google. Each handles information only to provide that service to us.
Seeing or removing your information
Email scoutmaster@troop199.org and we’ll tell you what we hold, correct it, or delete it. Welcome Night sign-ups are for planning one evening, and you can ask us to delete yours at any time, before or after it.
