BSA Troop 199 has been in Fishers since 1993. Today it is more than fifty Scouts who camp every month of the year, and 225 of its Scouts have gone on to earn Eagle. The troop is run by volunteers and paid for by families, and it holds to one rule: no Scout is turned away for financial reasons.
Keeping that promise is what sponsors and donors make possible. Annual dues cover registration, awards and troop gear, and each campout is billed to the family per trip — so every gift goes straight to a Scout’s year outdoors.
What a year in the troop costs
Three ways to support the troop
Make a gift
Any amount helps. A gift can go to the troop's general fund, or you can ask that it keep a particular Scout camping when his family can't cover a trip — handled quietly by the Treasurer.
Sponsor the troop as a business
Local businesses have long been part of what keeps a troop going. Tell us what you have in mind — a one-time gift, support for a specific campout or summer camp, or something ongoing — and we'll talk through how to thank you.
Give your time
A troop needs adults as much as it needs money: merit badge counselors with a skill to pass on, drivers, and registered leaders. Training is free and online.
