HOW TO JOIN

Three easy steps

1

Visit a meeting

Drop in any Tuesday, 7:00–8:30 PM at Legacy Bible Church. Meet the scouts and leaders — no commitment, no RSVP needed.

2

Try an outing

Come along to a campout or a day activity as a guest and see Scouting in action. The troop owns the tents, stoves and group gear, so there is nothing to buy first.

3

Register

Complete the BSA youth application online or at a meeting. Our committee will walk you through dues, gear, and next steps.

Common questions

What ages can join?

Boys ages 11–17, or 10 if they have completed the Arrow of Light or fifth grade. It is never too late to start — Scouts who join later still get a great deal out of the program.

How much does it cost?

Annual dues cover registration, awards, and troop gear, and campouts are billed per trip. No Scout is ever turned away for financial reasons, and we run fundraisers through the year to offset costs — ask the Treasurer.

Do we need camping experience or gear?

None at all. The troop owns tents, stoves, and group gear, and experienced scouts teach new members everything from knots to cooking.

How involved do parents need to be?

There is no required commitment. We encourage new families to take the first three to six months simply to settle in; after that, parents are very welcome on campouts and in committee roles.
